Often times Ukraine children have become involved in prostitution or drug sales.

It is not uncommon to find children in Ukraine living on the streets, living in manholes and in deserted buildings.

The situation for homeless children in the Ukraine is dire. People living in Ukraine and visitors can shockingly witness the desperate poverty of small children and teens.

Alfa-Nik has purchased a former Soviet technical school and has plans to have 40 children there. Currently, Alfa-Nik provides almost 30 children with homes. Those children are extremely happy!

With high inflation in Ukraine, building materials are very expensive. They come from other countries which is costly. We’ve already raised several thousand dollars. As soon as the funds are available, we start making improvements.

We are building out the third floor of our children’s home for single moms with babies. New moms and their babies will stay six-month s. They will learn to care for and nurse their babies; and to hold a job.

Three of the ten rooms in the new mom’s and baby’s area are almost complete. Hopefully soon we’ll raise the necessary funds and have a place for all moms and their babies.

Unfortunately in Ukraine, there is a stigma with being an orphan. People look down upon them. Many times orphans are bullied at school. At the Alfa-Nik school children are provided an education in a safe, loving environment.

Here at Alfa-Nik, we started the first Christian school in the city of Nikolaev for the Alfa-Nik children and other orphans in the community. Attending this school is very beneficial for the children.

We’ve been able to build a cafeteria to better provide warm nourishing meals for our growing family of Alfa-Nik children. We are almost complete with that and just need equipment now.

The Alfa-Nik corporation was developed to help Ukrainian children to have warm loving homes and their very own mother and father figures. It’s similar to foster care in the United States, except it’s a permanent type arrangement.

Over the past couple of years at Alfa-Nik, we have been blessed with a new playground. The children love it. This playground is open to the community and many community children come because it's a nice playground with swings and slides.

We asked one of the girls what could we do to make her Alfa-Nik home better and she was in a state of shock. She said…“How could it be any better?”

We are having many successes in helping these children to have a happy life. We want to expand to be able to help more children and provide more room for those on the streets. We appreciate even the smallest gift. The children are very grateful as well.
